Sport Activities - Miss Bourget's Class

Winter is always fun in Canada. We had our own winter carnival for our students, where the students participated in student sled races, snowman and snow angel making contests, and snow shoeing relays and group ski races. The weather was wonderful and we all had lots of fun!

Our class participated in skating lessons this year, for many of the children it was the first time they skated in their lives. What fun we had and everyone has skates and a helmet to skate at their local rink.

In January, our class took a bus trip out to Parkland Conservation Farm. On our way to the farm, we had the pleasure of seeing real Bison in Elk Island National Park. The children were amazed at their size and the how dark and black their hide was. When we go to the farm, we put on snowshoes and trekked around the farm in search of animal tracks. This was our first time on snowshoes and we all did a very good job in maneuvering around in the field. We found bird, mice and possible fox tracks. (We may have found the farm cat tracks as well.)
