Occupations

Miss Bourget's Class

In the beginning of our study of Canada, our class focused on occupations in Canada. We built our own class hospital, post office, garage, restaurant, super market, library, church and bakery. Through our stories and dramatic play we explored different occupations and the duties of each. Our fieldtrips took us to the local church, library, Save- On, bank and pet store. We brought in special guest to talk to us about what it is that their job is. People like our local police, fire fighter, ambulance worker and priest came to talk to us. We even had an NHL hockey player, Georges Larouque, visit us and talk to us about playing hockey.
